During my tenure at bKash, I owned the Savings Product, transforming it from a stagnant feature to a massive growth engine.
When taking over the savings engine, total active subscriptions were stuck at 0.7M, with a bare-minimum growth rate of only 20k-30k monthly subscriptions. The product suffered from friction-filled onboarding and complex workflows.
Subscriptions soared to 7M+ while scaling monthly user intake by 10x (200k–250k new depositors every month).
Identified deep friction points in user flows, which had a poor baseline funnel conversion rate of 1.5%. I guided screen-by-screen UX research to compress the convoluted 10-tap registration model into a seamless 3-tap onboarding checkout.
Funnel activation leaped from 1.5% directly to almost 35% conversion.
Traditional operations took months to resolve user disputes, resulting in high abandonment rates. I introduced real-time monitoring structures and automated daily SQL sanity routines to spot anomalies. This enabled us to tackle issues within 24-48 hours.
Account maturity rates zoomed upwards from a mere 3.7% up to a stellar 26% overall retention.
By synthesizing targeted product offerings, compressing friction in the checkout experience, and taking proactive ownership of user disputes, we successfully unlocked savings products for underserved demographics across the country.
